Making a PAWS-itive impact: Giving Back to Animal Shelters & Organizations
Animal shelters and organizations work tirelessly to care and find homes for strays and homeless animals around the country. Whether it’s donating supplies, contributing to medical funds, or volunteering your time––your act of kindness can make a huge difference!
If you have some extra time and money to give back, here are three organizations you can reach out to!
Who are they?
Mayari Animal Rescue Organization’s rescue center is located in Guadalupe, Cebu City. They promote and educate the public about the Philippine Animal Welfare Act (RA 8485), continuing the fight against animal cruelty.
How can I help?
MARO has a steady need for dog and cat food, medicines, and transport opportunities. They’re also looking for dedicated volunteers to help follow up reports about abused or lost animals.
Who are they?
God’s Home of Refuge is a nonprofit organization located in Lemery, Batangas. Their goal is to rescue animals from difficult situations and give them a second opportunity at a happy life.
How can I help?
Volunteers can help out with many different tasks, such as: assisting adoption events, facilitating cat socialization, capturing photos for the NGO’s promo materials. Donations also go to funding the NGO’s pet needs, hospital expenses, and caretakers’ salary.
Who are they?
The Philippine Animal Rescue Team is an animal rescue organization located in Camarines Norte. PART is founded and run by a dedicated group of volunteers to rescue abandoned, sick, and injured animals.
How can I help?
You can volunteer at PART by assisting with daily care, helping out with adoption events, or spreading awareness. You can also send donations or sponsor a rescued animal.
