Toys to give your hyperactive pet

Does your dog have unlimited energy? If you have a dog that’s constantly getting zoomies, always excited about everything, then you might have a hyperactive dog. Although contrary to what others think, a hyper dog doesn’t mean your pet is “bad” or “misbehaving.” Hyperactive dogs are just pets that are more curious about their world and need a bit more stimulation.

One great way to manage your hyperactive dog’s energy levels is through toys. Here are a  few of our toy picks for your hyper pet!

  1. Squeaker Balls

Playing fetch is actually a full-body workout for your dog! Aside from giving your hyper dog some exercise, fetch is also great at teaching your pet impulse control. If your dog learns to sit and wait before you throw a ball, that trains them to stay calm even when they’re excited by their surroundings!

  1. Dental Treat Unicorn

Aside from cleaning your pet’s teeth, dental treats can also calm your dog down. Chewing relieves boredom, anxiety, and stress in most dogs!

  1. Puzzle Toy

Fun fact: mental stimulation can use up more of your dog’s energy than physical exercise! When using these types of toys, dogs have to solve a puzzle first before getting their reward (a treat!) Since these toys are interactive, your dog can be left alone to play with these puzzle toys for hours!

  1. Dumplings Hide-and-Seek Toy

If your dog finds toys more rewarding than treats, then this hide-and-seek toy could be a great option for them! For this toy, your dog has to figure out a way to get the squeaky little dumpling toys out of their basket. It’s also a great pick for dogs that love to dig and burrow.

Tip for playtime with a hyperactive dog: Rotate toys and provide a variety of options for your pet! Keeping their playtime exciting will keep them engaged and help reduce destructive behavior.
