When should I bring my pet to the clinic?
When is it urgent for a pet parent to bring their pet to the clinic? What constitutes a possible emergency case?
Every Tuesday and Saturday nights from 7-8PM, Super Pets Club members join our Vet's Chat where they can ask our trusted vet, Dr. Jaline, questions about their pet’s health, nutrition, and training. This platform is a middle ground between scrolling online and visiting a vet in-person. Instead of finding answers in your Google results or Viber groupchats, messaging with a vet can give you more clarity with your pet parenting concerns.
But when is it urgent for a pet parent to bring their pet to the clinic?
Our recommendation: for emergencies, it’s always best to take your pet to see their vet immediately.
What constitutes a possible emergency case?
Remember ABCDE
AIRWAY
Check nostrils. Does the air/sound seem off?
BREATHING
How’s the in & out movement of their chest?
CIRCULATION
Check color of pet’s gums, eyes, tongue.
Is the patient bleeding? How severe?
DISABILITY
Is the pet alert? Responsive?
EXPOSURE
Any signs of fever?
If you notice something out of the ordinary in these areas, we recommend bringing your pet to the clinic as soon as possible.
Other cases that need urgent medical attention for pets:
